St. Thomas
St. Thomas Aquinas was a priest and a doctor of the church. He would teach those studying for the priesthood. It was a core requirement of study for those seeking ordination. St. Thomas was considered the best theologian and philosopher out of the 35 doctors of the church because he was influenced by scholasticism and Aristotle. He was also known for a synthesis he wrote on two aforementioned traditions. His most influential work is the Summa Theologica. In it he talked about God, Ethics, and Summa. He stated that all religion can be rationally thought about and explained.
Joan of Arc.
When she was 12 years old she said she had started hearing voices telling her it was her destany to free her country from the English and help the dauphin gain the French Throne. She was known for the battle of Orleans in May of 1429. She lead her troops and defeated the English. She continued fighting the enemy in other locations. She became so popular that when she stepped on the battlefield her enemies fled the area.
She was captured by the Burgundians and they sold her to the English. Then the English gave her to the ecclesiatical court and was convicted after a fourteen-month interrogation. On May 30, 1431 she was burned at the stake in the Rouen Marketplace.
